To the people who help keep much of the East End running, it is a place to call home. Generations of immigrant workers have come to Riverhead, as well as enclaves farther east, seeking work and a better life. The latest wave, mostly from Latin America, builds houses, staffs restaurants, tends farms and vineyards, and fills the manual labor and service jobs that sustain the region’s tourism industry and upscale properties. ...
